AI moderator for customer interviews

Ask your customers why, this week.

Your AI moderator runs every interview, asks the follow-up questions, and hands you the findings with quotes.

No card required. Your data stays yours.

18 of 40 interviews

An AI moderator runs your customer interviews for you. You write what you want to learn and share one link. The moderator talks to each customer by voice or chat, asks the follow-up questions and returns findings with quotes.

One moderator, six kinds of conversations

Pick the study, write the goal, and send the link to your own customers.

  • Find out why people buy, what they use and what almost made them stop. The moderator keeps asking until the answer is specific, the way a good researcher does.

  • Give participants a task and hear them think aloud. You learn where they hesitated, what they expected and the words they used.

  • Show an idea before you build it. Participants react in their own words, and the moderator probes the reason behind each yes or no.

  • Ask people who left what actually changed. The moderator gets past the polite answer to the real reason, with the quote attached.

  • Talk to buyers who chose you and buyers who did not. Every conversation is moderated the same way, so the reasons are easy to compare.

  • Run a group-style discussion around one topic and read the themes side by side. See how AI focus groups work and when they fit better than one-to-one interviews.

What almost made you stop before you bought?

The price page. I could not tell what we would pay.

What did you do next?

Asked a colleague who had bought it before.

Usability tests Task 2 of 4

Try to export last month's report. Say what you are thinking.

I expected it under Reports, so I am looking there.

What made you look there first?

The menu says Reports, and I assumed exports live there.

Concept tests Concept B

Here is the idea. What is your first reaction?

Useful, but I would not pay for it on its own.

What would make it worth paying for?

If it filled in the weekly numbers for me.

Churn interviews Reason for leaving

What actually changed before you cancelled?

It got expensive.

Expensive compared to what?

Our team shrank from nine people to four.

Win-loss interviews Lost deal

What decided it for you in the end?

The other vendor could start the same week.

Who needed it that week?

Finance did, because our launch date moved up.

How do you each decide what to read first?

I start with whatever my manager forwards.

Does anyone here do it differently?

I only read what has a number in the title.

From question to findings in three steps

No calendar, no scheduling emails. Read the full walkthrough on the how it works page.

  1. 1

Write what you want to learn

Type your research goal and who you are talking to. The moderator turns it into an interview guide with goals, questions and follow-ups. You can edit every line before anyone sees it.

  2. 2

    Share one link

Send the link to your own customers, users or leads. They answer when it suits them, by voice or chat. The moderator adapts each next question to what they just said.

  3. 3

    Read the findings

Every interview is transcribed. Themes are grouped across conversations, and each theme shows the quotes behind it. Check the evidence before you act on it. See what comes back from AI moderated interviews.

Questions before your first interview

Do people talk honestly to an AI moderator?

Many people find it easier to be direct with a moderator that has no stake in the answer. There is no one to impress and no one to disappoint. The moderator keeps asking until the answer is concrete, and every finding comes with the quote, so you can judge it yourself.

Where do participants come from?

You invite your own customers with a link. We do not run a respondent panel or recruit participants, so you hear from people who use your product, or who nearly did.

Voice or chat?

Both. Chat suits quick answers and busy participants. Voice suits people who explain better out loud. Each plan includes a number of chat interviews and voice minutes. The demo on this page is text only.

How does the moderator decide what to ask next?

It works from your interview guide and from the answer it just heard. If an answer is vague, it asks for an example. If a participant mentions something new and relevant, it follows that thread before returning to the guide.

What does an interview cost compared to a human moderator?

A human moderator is paid per hour, and each interview also takes scheduling and note time. On Moderators the cost is your plan divided by the interviews you run. For example, $249 divided by 400 chat interviews is about 62 cents per interview at the Team limit. Use the calculator above to compare it with your own hourly rate.

Is my data used to train models?

No. Your data stays yours. Your interviews and findings are used to run your study and nothing else. Read more on the security page.

Can I keep my research guide and transcripts when I cancel?

Yes. Your guides, transcripts and findings are yours, and you can export them from your account before your plan ends.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Unused interviews and minutes do not carry over, and we do not offer refunds.
